About Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel

Convenient for Aberdeen city centre and set within seven acres of tranquil, private gardens, Norwood Hall Hotel offers the best of both worlds.

Located on Garthdee Road, the luxury mansion house was built in 1881 on the site of the 15th century Pitfodels Castle.

While its origins go back centuries, the present hotel offers all the modern comforts you would expect from a 21st century, 4-star getaway.

The Tapestry Restaurant is the hotel’s superb, two AA Rosette dining spot while the Georgian Bar offers an open fireplace and luxury malt whisky menu.

There are also plenty of golfing opportunities nearby.

Luxurious rooms

Guest rooms at Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel offer stunning views of the Scottish countryside as well as plenty of peace and quiet.

All rooms are traditionally furnished with classic décor and include modern conveniences like free WiFi, a flat screen TV and big comfy beds.

Upgraded rooms include executive doubles, feature kings and the spacious feature suite with its high ceiling and bay windows. Accessible rooms are also available.

Classic Scottish dishes

The proud holder of two AA Rosettes, the Tapestry Restaurant serves classic Scottish dishes made with local, seasonal produce. It is richly decorated in a period style with views of the gardens and woodlands, making you feel as if you have been spirited away to another era.

Popular options include the Gressingham duck breast served with dauphinoise potatoes, braised chicory, celeriac purée, roasted baby carrot and a five spice jus or the Highland venison & redcurrant casserole with new potatoes, wild mushrooms and baby carrots.

Explore Aberdeen

Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel is ideal for exploring Aberdeen and the rest of the east coast. There is plenty to see and do in the local area, including 55 golf courses in Aberdeenshire alone.
