Historic country inn at Dirleton village, East Lothian

If it is character and tradition that you’re looking for then you will find it at The Castle Inn. This 19th century Scottish coaching inn overlooks a peaceful village green with the Medieval Dirleton Castle as a backdrop.

Guests can dine on gourmet pub cuisine followed by drinks in the big, sunny beer garden and terrace. All bedrooms are ensuite, with four doubles and one single available. An a la carte breakfast is served each morning.

Pub dining with a cheffy touch

The Castle Inn serves a gastropub menu showcasing local ingredients where possible. Expect a range of British favourites combined with a few Gallic classics.

Sample dishes include spatchcok of poussin with lemon & tarragon sauce; roast vegetable tarte tatin drizzled with parmesan cream sauce, and venison & maple sausages with red onion gravy and creamy mash.

You can wash down your meal with a selection of wines, beers and real ales.
