The Popinjay Hotel & Spa is located in the charming little country village of Rosebank nestled in the heart of the Clyde Valley.

Just off the M74, it is a 25 minute drive from Glasgow and under an hour from Edinburgh.

Built in 1882, the hotel has a charming Tudor-style exterior and is enjoying a rolling refurbishment so that it can continue to welcome guests in style for the next hundred years.

Popinjay Hotel & Spa has 34 modern and comfortable guest rooms over two floors, many of which have views of the garden and Clyde Valley.

All rooms have stylish modern furnishings, and guests have the option of staying in a double room, family room, deluxe king/twin room, de luxe four poster room or a suite.

Seasonal menu

The Popinjay’s Dalserf Restaurant offers all day dining from a seasonal menu. Guests can enjoy honest, wholesome and comforting food, prepared with care.

Popular main courses on the menu include braised pork belly; fillet of beef Stroganoff; chicken risotto and grilled halloumi served with salad leaves, strawberries and a lime and coriander dressing.

Spa facilities

The leisure facilities at the Popinjay Hotel are impressive and include a professionally appointed gym, separate cardiovascular and resistance training rooms, a 17-meter swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi.

There is lots for guests to see and do around The Popinjay Hotel & Spa. Lanarkshire is home to two world heritage sites, New Lanark and the Antonine Wall, plus many visitor attractions such as Chatelherault Country Park, Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life and the National Museum of Rural Life.

Another option would be to explore the Clyde Valley Tourist Route. This 42 mile route makes its picturesque way to the upper reaches of the River Clyde and the World Heritage Site of New Lanark, a beautifully restored 18th century cotton mill village first built by the famous social reformer Robert Owen.

Spa treatment

Very good value for money. Staff were very friendly and myself and my sister had a spa treatments with therapist Debbie, who was amazing, I had a facial and it was the best I’ve ever had.
