  It was overall a disappointing experience. The service was slow and we had to prompt staff. We were there to celebrate a 40th birthday and no effort was made to make the birthday person feel special. We had got there early as we had brought three (well behaved) children with the group and would have appreciated things to be a bit faster so we did not have the concern they were getting tired. I can understand the food is cooked to order so do not have a quibble about that, but it took a long time to order our meal and especially to order pudding. When pudding did arrive the ice-cream had melted totally, there had been a fire alarm, but I was surprised they did not send back to the kitchen and re-plate. My husband complained in writing after the meal and did not even receive the courtesy of a reply. Having been before, it was not up to its usual standard and would make me think twice about returning.
