  We went for three starters and main courses from the light lunch menu. The soup of the day (chicken and vegetable) was first class as was the crostini (freshly prepared and with an excellent use of aubergines). The lasagne for the main course was piping hot, tasty and with a generous helping. The trout was succulent, served in tasty sauce with boiled potatoes and green beans. The drinks were good, though I felt £5.50 for a glass of red wine a bit steep. The cost of a glass of wine was not written on the drinks menu though the price of beer is. We did not like the music blaring from tinny speakers. This is totally unnecessary considering the clientale and the lovely ambince of the restaurant. I would return more often if it were not for the music.
