Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The food was great and the service was even better. The staff were extremely helpful. We weren't rushed and even stayed longer than the 1hr 45 mins that was stated on the booking.

Gōst on Bothwell Street promises delectable prime cuts of beef and expertly grilled fish served with quality wine and cocktails. The restaurant is by the same team behind popular dining spots Glaschu and The Duke’s Umbrella.
According to Executive Chef John Molloy, the aim is to serve dishes that feel familiar but are elevated to a fine dining standard. To this end, Gōst is one of the only restaurants in Scotland offering purebred Angus beef steak from ex-dairy cattle retired onto grass pastures. The result is an incredible depth of flavour.
Inside, the decor is sleek and sophisticated with a focus on elegant simplicity.
The menu at Gōst includes a playful snack section offering titbits like crab bisque shooters and a ‘fish & chips’ dish of potato terrine chip, taramasalata and salt & vinegar powder.
From the starters you can enjoy seafood delights like Cumbrae oysters and roast Orkney scallops, as well as ex-dairy beef sliders or salt-baked beetroot with goats’ cheese & honeycomb.
The 700g ex-dairy prime rib is a highlight of the grill section but you can also tuck into other steak cuts such as T-bone, Denver, rump, ribeye and sharing Chateaubriand. Alternatively, why not try out a Mangalitza pork chop or charcoal-grilled sea bass? Grill dishes come with a tantalising selection of toppers and sauces, including smoked bone marrow, deepwater fried garlic butter prawns and caviar beurre blanc.
Other mains include the double crust Gōst burger with the chef’s own wheat beer cheese sauce, a spiced charcoal-roasted duck breast, and a foraged mushroom & truffle risotto.
Gōst is right in the heart of the city centre between Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations. The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, King’s Theatre and Theatre Royal are all around a 10-minute walk away, as is the Cineworld cinema.
Other nearby attractions include the Gallery of Modern Art, Princes Square and Buchanan Galleries.
