  As usual the food and service at Red Onion was fantastic. We ate lunch on the 5pm pre theatre menu which was a bargain considering the size of the portions. 3 of us had calimari which was huge chunck with a lovely light batter followed by the finnan haddie risotto which was a delicious, lighter alternative to traditional finnan haddie. Another guest had the soup & the cumberland sausage - again portions were generous & presented beautifully. The only downside was the strange choice of music (weird electronic/house??) and the fact that it was pretty empty which is a shame since it's such a great place!
